I am more than just 1 person, it takes a small team of clever friends who work in the creative field and suppliers that are amazing at what they do. From printers to linen suppliers and beyond, I need my team.
Jon, my partner likes to sit in the background and do the finances and of course puts his design eye on things when they need it too. Oh and he prevents me from going over budget, most of the time ;-)
How we work & what to expect:
Clients needs and wants are thoroughly discussed in our first meeting.
We will Ask lots of questions and listen a lot, and the outcomes from this become a list of prerequisites, that become the client program.
Some Questions we will ask:
How do you want to live/experience the space ?
What are some things you enjoy ?
What’s important to you ?
How do you want people to feel when they enter your home or space ?
Tell your story !
We will ask for imagery prior to the meeting for eg:
A car that you like
The shape of An item,
A scene you like
Elements from this conversation will start the program and define the design brief.
Designer or Decorator
Interior design is the art and science of understanding people's behavior to create functional spaces within a building, while interior decorating is the furnishing or adorning of a space with decorative elements to achieve a certain aesthetic. In short, interior designers may decorate, but decorators do not design
A designer will create an Entry to a home that will "Create a Moment".
Something special to the client and guests, they will present you with options and work to a budget knowing what trades and products cost and they come with an array of trade pricing that is not available to decorators who may get a kick back from suppliers they choose to belong to.
Designers will go above and beyond to get what is right for you and that may involve custom trades people.
2. Work with Space
We will help you to Discover a space, but not all at once, we will Use every square inch of space so nothing is forgotten or wasted. For Example, You could have a bar under the stairs that would otherwise be lost space..
We can use Visual trickery to enhance a space and Repetition to knit the look together
And We embrace Awkward spaces and help you use those nooks that create interest in your home or business.
Why use a designer ?
Bottom line answer:
Spending money on plans and designs saves 1000’s wasted on rushed choices or on the go purchases.
Take risks, mix materials, be bold
Living without colour is like living without love.
Invite colour into your home
